Star chart of various constellations.

Gemini is a constellation visible from Earth, named for its characterization as a mythical set of twins.

The Federation starships named USS Gemini are called as such for this region, the formations contained within and its mythological history.

In the Kelvin timeline, the Gemini Project, an initiative of the Jolan Movement on Romulus, was named after the Gemini constellation. The neural agent with which James T. Kirk was infected by the Gemini Project allowed him to recognize and identify the stars of Gemini, with which he was previously unfamiliar. T'Laya, the Vulcan agent of the Gemini Project, asked Kirk to remember that she loved him when he looked up at Gemini. (TOS - Starfleet Academy novel: The Gemini Agent)
