Georgia

Georgia is a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America.
Georgia was the site of a number of battles during the American Civil War, including the Battle of Pine Mountain. Colonel Thaddius Riker - a Union Army officer and distant ancestor of Captain William T. Riker - was present at the battle. During the battle Thaddius was seriously injured. His life was saved when a member of the Q continuum who would come to be called Quinn carried him to safety following the Battle of Pine Mountain, Georgia. (VOY episode: "Death Wish")
Leonard McCoy was born in the city of Atlanta, Georgia in 2227, (FASA RPG: USS Enterprise Officer's Manual). In the late 2250s and early 2260s, he kept a home in the city of Macon, and resided there when he worked at the Starfleet Teaching Hospital. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)
