Ghar was a star that was located a number of parsecs away from Earth and the Sol system, in Federation space, near the border between the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

Gharian wedding birds originate from this star's planetary system. These non-sentient avian lifeforms had red-colored heads and blue plumage. (TOS comic: "Sport of Knaves")

The Federation starship USS Ghar was named for this location. (TOS reference: Star Fleet Technical Manual)
