The Ghast class vehicle yard is an aspect of Klingon colonies and is the heart of such worlds.

These structures produce the first rank of vehicles such as worker units and the initial military vehicles for defending the base. The building itself is modular which allows further components to be added over time. After the second phase of expansion is made, further developments are allowed by a larger work area and an upgrade of the manufacturing facilities. At phase three, which is usually present on the most developed of colonies, the vehicle yard can produce the more powerful of units such as the mobile Kang class disruptor battery.

Each upgrade from phase one to three allows an enhancement to the power distribution grid which improves the efficiency of the assembly areas.
