Ghorusda is an inhabited planet. In the mid-24th century, the USS Adelphi was dispatched on a first contact mission to the planet. Accompanying the Adelphi on the mission was the Betazoid first contact specialist, Tam Elbrun. Unfortunately, undetermined actions by Elbrun led to the death of 47 crewmembers aboard the Adelphi, including Captain Darson. (TNG episode: "Tin Man")
