A Glikar'ma (also known as an Andorian forest spider) is a large venomous arachnid native to Andoria.

It's name comes from the ancient Irinari language, and means "any death is preferable."

It lives in the ice-encrusted conifers of the forests along the northernmost forested zones of Ka'Thela and Voral. There are actually several subspecies, most are equally deadly. They normally feed on small mammals, but some are "stupid enough to think that an Andorian looks edible." Fiercely territorial, and very intelligent for an arachnid, it seems capable of sneak-attacks, though it is not sentient.

Glikar'ma venom is instantly fatal to small mammals, but will paralyze larger animals such as Humanoids. In larger species (up to about the size of a bear) it will cause disorientation and weakness, rendering them paralyzed but conscious for at least seven hours, during which the glikar'ma will consume the creature, sucking its blood first.

In Andorian lore, glikar'ma are viewed almost as demonic figures, often "luring innocent Andorians to their deaths." (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans)
