Glynis was a female Human presumably born on Mars in the early 2260s. By age eight, she had decided she wanted to enter Starfleet Academy and serve aboard a starship. To this end, she dedicated herself to the study of space exploration, including the history of the first Lunar landing.

Young Glynis may be Admiral Glynis Kestell Tabor, the author of the historical extract that forms the prologue of this novel.
