The Golden Nugget was a casino in Las Vegas on Earth built in 1946, making it one of the oldest casinos in the city. It was owned by the Golden Nugget Companies, which became Mirage Resorts in 1989. In 1973 Steve Winn took control of this casino, becoming the youngest owner on the strip at that time. (DS9 - The Lives of Dax short story: "Second Star to the Right...")
