Gomez was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a security officer aboard the USS Enterprise in the 2260s and 2270s under the command of James T. Kirk.
History[]
In 2268, Gomez reported to Security Chief Vincent DeSalle. DeSalle, Oyama and Gomez were the security detail that accompanied Leonard McCoy, Christine Chapel and Helen Gordon in a shuttlecraft to the planet Midgwis to investigate the activities of Yarblis Geshkerroth, who had assumed the identity of Kirk. They searched huts belonging to a Federation contact team. When the landing party visited a Klingon encampment, Oyama and Gomez served as sentries hidden in nearby brush. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)
In 2274, Captain James T. Kirk requested a security detail beam down to Sarsithia when Isoth Fortress was breached by a force of scavengers. Sergeant Umeki and guards Gomez, Smith, and Takashida were on duty in the security stand-by lounge, and they transported down with Security Chief Pavel Chekov to defend the citadel. When the intruders spotted General Onoth in the fortress, however, they panicked, and he shot them before they could surrender.
Later, chemical interactions gave Christine Chapel amnesia and drove her into a frenzied panic. She unexpectedly punched Kirk and laid out one of the three guards, then scattered them with a phaser blast. The team tracked her to a spaceport, but she escaped in a transport before they could apprehend her. (TOS comic: "Quarantine")
- Gomez was not specifically identifiable among the guards in the comic.
