In the mirror universe, Gorkon, son of Toq was the Klingon leader who served as Regent of the Klingons and who led the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance to victory over the Terran Republic in 2295, two years after its transformation from an Empire under the leadership of Spock of Vulcan. The IKS Gorkon was later named in his honor. (DS9 novel: Warpath; TOS - Mirror Universe novel: The Sorrows of Empire).

The capital city of Cestus III was renamed from Kirk City to Gorkon City after the Alliance took control of the world. (VOY novel: The Mirror-Scaled Serpent)
