Greta Vanderweg (2338 - 2375) was a female Human from Alpha Centauri. She joined Starfleet in 2363 and was posted to Deep Space 9 as a science officer in 2372. She was married to a micropaleontologist who worked on Mora V. (DS9 episode: "Field of Fire")

In 2374, Lieutenant Commander Vanderweg attended the welcoming party for the Romulans and other scientists who arrived on the station to work on Project Blue Sky. During the event, Vanderweg accidentall spilled some of her drink onto the sleeve of the Romulan engineer she was talking to. Jadzia Dax later considered asking Vanderweg to cover her shift after she had an exhausting night working with Subcommander T'Rul. (DS9 short story: "The Devil You Know")

The following year, Vanderweg was murdered by Lieutenant Chu'lak with a TR-116 rifle. The unstable Vulcan killed her as in her quarters she had a wedding photograph that featured her and her husband smiling happily. (DS9 episode: "Field of Fire")
