Griscom was a member of the medical staff of the USS Lexington, serving under chief medical officer Elizabeth Lense.

In 2374, during a battle in the Setlik system during the Dominion War, Griscom was incapacitated when the Lexington's sickbay was breached by a Dominion strike. (SCE eBook: War Stories, Book 1)

It is unclear whether or not Griscom was one of the numerous casualties of this battle. He was named after the medical examiner from the final season of Homcide: Life on the Street, played by Austin Pendleton.
