Guthrie was a female yeoman in Starfleet. In 2263, she was assigned to Commodore Matthew Decker of the USS Constellation, replacing Yeoman Lawford. (VAN novel: Harbinger, TOS - The Brave and the Bold novella: The First Artifact)

Guthrie presumably perished with the rest of the Constellation crew in 2267 during the encounter with an ancient "planet killer" depicted in TOS episode: "The Doomsday Machine".
