In 2381, Lieutenant Commander Plante was assigned to the USS New York during the Borg invasion of the Federation. During the battle at Alonis, in her capacity as operations manager, Plante reported damage to the vessel to Captain Benjamin Sisko. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Rough Beasts of Empire)
Plante later transferred to the USS Robinson, also under Captain Sisko's command. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Raise the Dawn)
In 2385, she was promoted to commander and was made second officer, in addition to her continuing duties as operations manager. (DS9 novel: Sacraments of Fire)
