H'atoria was a class M planet controlled by the Klingon Empire, near the Federation border. It was the seventh planet in the H'atoria system. (ST video game: Infinite)

History and specifics[]

The world sustained a small Klingon colony population in the 24th century. H'atoria was mostly covered in water oceans, with very few landmasses, and had two small moons. H'atoria was home to a native amphibious civilization called the Selsseress. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)

In 2016, a Vulcan ship crossed into Klingon territory near H'atoria, and was promptly destroyed by the Klingons. Afterwards the Vulcans responded by firing first whenever they encountered the Klingons. They continued this practice until formal relations were established. (DSC episode: "The Vulcan Hello")

Startrek.com gives the Vulcan ship the name of H'Atoria.

In the 2390s, Worf, son of Mogh served briefly as governor of H'atoria colony.

By the 2400s, H'atoria was home to more than 3.2 million people. Klingons made up the majority of the residents, with Nausicaans forming the dominate minority population. The average surface temperature lay more than 20 degres Celsius lower than the Qo'noS average. Snow was common throughout half of H'atoria's solar year.

In 2409, Doctor Amar Singh worked in a lab provided by B'vat on Klingon and Gorn augments. (STO - Klingon War mission: "The Ultimate Klingon")

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate future timeframe created by Q, Worf was governor of H'atoria in 2395. (TNG episode & novelization: All Good Things...)

First Splinter timeline[]

In the First Splinter timeline, in early 2381, it was one of the many worlds devastated by the Borg Invasion. Over seven thousand Borg cubes launched to the Alpha and Beta Quadrants from the Azure Nebula. While briefing Federation President Nanietta Bacco on their losses, Raisa Shostakova estimated that H'Atoria was likely to be attacked within four hours. The Borg assaulted H'atoria, leaving virtually nothing behind, only a few surviving Selsseress. About three months later, the abandoned world was conquered by the Kinshaya, as part of the new offensive against the Klingon Empire. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)

Kelvin timeline[]

In a version of the Kelvin timeline, H'atoria was a thriving colony world of the Klingon Empire. It was open to independent visitors. (ST video game: Fleet Command)

Mirror universe[]

In the mirror universe, H'atoria was a Klingon world. In the late 2240s and early 2250s, H'atoria served as the main research base for the Klingons as they forced the Penemu to develop a weapon capable of destroying class M atmospheres. (Mirror Universe short story: "Ill Winds")
