Hasegawa was a 23rd century Human serving in Starfleet in the 2250s, assigned as a junior engineer aboard the USS Farragut. Hasegawa aspired to one day become a chief engineer aboard a starship.
In 2257, Hasegawa was one of two hundred crewmen killed following an attack on the Farragut by a dikironium cloud creature. She died while inside a turbolift compartment with Ojibwe. Shortly after, Lieutenant James T. Kirk and several other crewmen had to remove their bodies so they could gain access to the turbolift and get to the bridge.
