Heimal is a technologically advanced planet located in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. In the late 23rd century, Heimal was considered to be on a technological level comparable to Earth's. (TOS novel: The Abode of Life).

This planet's name seems to be a corrupted spelling of "Hiemdal", a star mentioned in the Star Fleet Technical Manual. The intention might have been to place this planet at that star.
