Henry V
Henry V was a play written by William Shakespeare, based on the historic British monarch. Like many of Shakespeare's works, Henry V was popular on Earth for centuries after its creation and eventually spread out into the galaxy.
In 2268, Katalya Tremain quoted this play with: "God for Harry, England, and St. George". (TOS novel: Vulcan!)
In 2293, the Klingon General Chang taunted Captain James T. Kirk and the Enterprise crew by quoting Shakespeare, including lines from Henry V: "Once more unto the breach, dear friends" and "The game's afoot!" (TOS movie: Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)
In 2366, Lt. Commander Data played Henry on the holodeck, in a re-enactment of Act IV, Scene 1. In that scene, Henry disguised himself as a common solider on the eve of battle, in order to talk anonymously with his men and learn their perceptions on the upcoming battle. Watching this performance, Captain Jean-Luc Picard lamented that, unlike Henry, that he could not easily disguise himself to talk to his crew during a period of increased tensions with the Romulans. (TNG episode: "The Defector")
