Hetik was a male Bajoran in the 24th century. In 2376, he made a pilgrimage to Deep Space 9, where he met Treir, an employee at Quark's. Treir hired him on as a dabo boy, and then later managed to convince Quark that he would attract a new group of gamblers to the dabo table than his dabo girls did. Hetik remained at Quark's into 2377. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight, et.al.)

"Hetik" is an anagram of "Keith", and the character was named for Keith R.A. DeCandido.
