Hon Avid was a Bajoran Prylar in the 24th century. In early 2380, the Vedek Assembly asked Hon to become caretaker of a new temple to be built on Berengaria for the growing Bajoran population there. Prylar Hon regularly held services for several dozen faithful.

On February 28, 2381, hundreds of people, including many non-Bajorans, attended a vigil at Hon's temple. Hon gave a homily stressing the importance of faith, not only in one's gods (mentioning Allah, Uzaveh, the Blessed Exchequer, Kahless, and Shariel in addition to the Prophets), but in one another.
