Chief Humbolt was a Starfleet technician during the 23rd century. In 2267, he worked on Starbase 11 in the Computer Center.

In 2267, he caught and tried to stop Spock forging tapes for his plan to take over the USS Enterprise. Humbolt was knocked out by Spock who succeeded in taking over the Enterprise. (TOS episode: "The Menagerie")
