Hupyrian

The Hupyrians were a notably tall species native to the Alpha or Beta Quadrants. (DS9 episode: "The Nagus", et al.)

In 2376, when Julian Bashir was treating a Hupyrian with a laceration to the scalp he detected a genetic disorder in the species, similar to Human arthritis. He considered a cure for the ailment for some time after, concluding inserting altered nucleonic material into the Hupyrian's pituitary-like gland might be the answer. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book One)
