The IKS N'Kghar was a Klingon starship, a B'rel-class scout/bird of prey in Imperial Defense Force service in the 23rd century. (TOS - Unlimited comic: "Trekkers")

History[]

By 2270, the N'Kghar was under the command of Captain Puhg. That year, the ship was one of two Birds-of-Prey to attack Federation Starfleet Lieutenants Pavel Chekov and Hikaru Sulu. Both Puhg and Captain Gakk, the commander of the other ship, the IKS Vorka, coveted the signet of the Noble House of General Krag, which the general had lost to Chekov in a game of baqlaq on Starbase 56. Whoever owned the signet, owned all that comprised the House of Krag, including its lands, ships, and members. (TOS - Unlimited comic: "Trekkers")

The N'Kghar was the second to strike, attacking the unnamed Type-4 shuttlecraft piloted by the two lietenants soon after it had escaped an asteroid belt and the pursuit of the Vorka. However, in a daring run, the shuttle settled itself right atop the main hull of the bird-of-prey, out of reach of its weapons. Unable to reach or shake loose the shuttle at impulse speed, the bird-of-prey soon warped away. (TOS - Unlimited comic: "Trekkers")

The N'Kghar soon returned however, and, in a simultaneous attack on the shuttle along with the Vorka, managed to cripple it. However, the N'Kghar then was the first to be crippled by the general's flagship, the K't'inga-class battlecruiser IKS Ghaklor, following right after the Vorka. Unwilling to admit defeat, Puhg destroyed the shuttle, but not before Chekov and Sulu were beamed onto the Ghaklor. (TOS - Unlimited comic: "Trekkers")
