The IKS Qaw'qay was a modified Klingon D7-class battle cruiser in service to the Imperial Klingon Defense Force in the 24th century. Under the command of Captain Kortag in the 2370s, the Qaq'qay was assigned to an engineering crew, corresponding to Starfleet's SCE, which was under the command of Master Kairn. (SCE eBook: Orphans)

Amongst the many modifications from the basic D7 design was the addition of a troop transport module and a shortened "neck" which compensated for the increased mass of the module. The Qaw'qay warp drive was also enhanced with rotating plasma injectors which allowed her to sustain sublumninal velocities which were nonetheless faster than impulse drive. (SCE eBook: Orphans)
