The IKS Sword of Kahless was a Klingon Empire starship, a Negh'Var-class flagship in Klingon Defense Force service in the 24th century.

History and specifications[]

This ship entered active service around the 2370s decade. In the year 2376, Sword of Kahless became Chancellor Martok's flagship. (TNG novel: Diplomatic Implausibility)

As a flagship in 2377, this vessel was equipped with an ion cannon. (ST video games: Armada, Armada II)

The ship contains a small replica of the Klingon High Council's meeting chamber in the Great Hall on Qo'noS. The Chamber itself occupied two decks. (GKN novel: Honor Bound)

Several weeks later, Martok used the Sword of Kahless to travel to Bajor and attend the planet's entry ceremony into the United Federation of Planets. (GKN novel: Honor Bound)

Several days later, the Sword of Kahless travelled to San-Tarah, after a conflict over the Children of San-Tarah between Klag and Talak erupted into a battle with several Klingon ships. Me-Larr and his people agreed to join the Klingon Empire in the chamber on the Sword of Kahless. The ship later towed the IKS K'mpec away from the planet to be repaired. (GKN novel: Honor Bound)

In 2381, the Sword of Kahless led a fleet of 478 ships against a fleet of Borg ships headed for Qo'noS. It took heavy damage in the battle. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)

The Sword of Kahless brought Chancellor Martok to the new Deep Space 9 in 2385. (ST - The Fall novel: Revelation and Dust)
