The IKS Tazhat (KL-1018) was a B'rel-class Klingon starship in service in the 23rd century. The name means "Flyer", the name of a piece in the game of klin zha. In 2278, the Tazhat was commanded by Captain Kasak sutai Khornezh. The Tazhat was specifically designed as the command-and-control center for the fully automated K't'inga class IKV Hakkarl, and given to Captain Kasak for testing. Kasak stole Hakkarl/Tazhat from spacedock and travelled to the planet Dekkanar, site of an uprising he had engineered in a plot to manipulate the Organian Peace Treaty so he could gain the planet for the Empire. However, one of the ships aiding in the evacuation of Federation personnel from Dekkanar was the starship Enterprise under the command of James T. Kirk. Damaged in battle with the Enterprise and a squadron of Klingon ships sent to bring Kasak to heel, the Tazhat was destroyed when its mortally-wounded captain input a final order to Hakkarl - to destroy the Bird-of-Prey, leaving the larger cruiser practically brain-dead. (TOS novel: Rules of Engagement)
