The IKS veScharg'a was a Klingon Vor'cha-class attack cruiser starship in Imperial Defense Force service in the 24th century.

In 2379, under the command of Fleet Captain Krogan and First Officer Zurka, the veScharg'a was the lead ship of a fleet of sixty Klingon vessels sent to Tezwa after the destruction of a smaller fleet four hours before. The veScharg'a was preparing to begin the attack when the USS Enterprise-E used Klingon Fleet Command's prefix codes to gain control of the entire Klingon fleet, completely shutting down power on the ships. Captain Jean-Luc Picard claimed the ancient Klingon rite of batyay'a — complete control over a conquered foe — and the veScharg'a and the rest of the Klingon fleet was guided to the edge of the star system and then released from Enterprise's control. (TNG - A Time to... novel: A Time to Kill)

The veScharg'a fought in at least two battles against the Borg in 2381. When the Borg invasion became critical, the veScharg'a was one of the vessels to amass at the Azure Nebula. While there, it worked to determine the proper soliton wave frequency to open subspace tunnels twenty-five and twenty-seven, along with the warbird IRW Tiamatra. However, seven thousand Borg cubes attacked from their tunnel, completely obliterating the allied fleet. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)

Although there were supposedly no survivors at the Azure Nebula with the exception of the USS Voyager, the veScharg'a (or a ship with the same name) is later seen at Morska, along with the IKS Sturka defending the planet from two Borg cubes. The veScharg'a managed to destroy both Borg Cubes in orbit of Morska. It was later ordered to report to the rendezvous point Martok had set up for his 478 ship fleet to intercept the Borg ships heading for Qo'noS. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)
