The RIS Devoras (IRC-1911) was a Romulan Star Empire starship, a D'deridex-class warbird in Romulan Imperial Fleet service in the 24th century. This ship was in active service around the 2360s and 2370s decades, as the flagship of Admiral Mendak. (ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia; CCG set: Premiere; Decipher RPG module: Starships; ST video games: Armada, Armada II, Starfleet Command III)

History and specificationsEdit

In 2367, under the command of Admiral Mendak, the Devoras rendezvoused with the USS Enterprise-D to receive Federation ambassador T'Pel for a diplomatic mission. Unknown to the Enterprise crew, T'Pel was actually an operative named Subcommander Selok, and the Devoras was assigned to transport her home, as well as creating a "transporter accident" that "killed" T'Pel.

When the deception was eventually discovered, the Enterprise intercepted the Devoras near the Romulan Neutral Zone, but was forced to withdraw when a second warbird arrived. (TNG episode: "Data's Day")

The Devoras remianed in active service in the 2370s decade. As a battleship, this vessel was equipped with a cloaking device, deflector shields, plasma torpedoes and phasers, and could be modified to operate a shield inversion beam. (ST video games: Armada, Armada II)

Later on, by the year 2379, Devoras was outfitted as a dreadnought vessel. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

BackgroundEdit

No history or fate is established for this vessel in the Armada and SFC games as its name was randomly selected for a destroyer vessel by the games' software, with different possible outcomes. The "RIS" registry prefix originates in the SFC III game. The vessel may have been named for Admiral Devoras Narviat (TOS novel: Vulcan's Heart) or the Devoras star system (ST reference: Star Charts).
