The Hiyll'aeh was a Romulan D'Deridex-class starship in service in the mid-24th century. Sometime after early-2365, Commander Tomalak was given command of the vessel. In 2366, the Hiyll'aeh was conducting a covert mission on the edge of the Neutral Zone, where it was accidentally discovered by the USS Grissom. After a brief exchange of weapons, the Hiyll'aeh was crippled while attempting to pursue the Grissom into the core of a rogue comet. (NF short story: "Performance Appraisal")
