Iadara Colony was a temperate planet, a Federation colony located in the Iadara star system near the border to the Cardassian Union. Its proximity to Cardassian space made the Iadarans tough, resourceful and not easily rattled. Iadarans spoke Federation Standard with a crisp accent. It was established at some point prior to the late 23rd century. Galina Mironova was from the Iadara Colony. In 2286, Saavik recognized Mironova's origin by her accent. (TOS novel: Unspoken Truth)
By the early 2370s decade, the colony was responsible for new starship developments. (TNG episode: "Parallels")
