Ilan Ramon

Ilan Ramon was a Starfleet officer during the Dominion War.

In 2375, Ramon was stationed aboard the USS Columbia when it was stuck in the powerless Starbase 1 after the Breen attack. He was in control of the phasers that cut the spacedock doors, freeing the Columbia. (TNG short story: "Eleven Hours Out")

Ramon was presumably named after Israeli astronaut, Ilan Ramon^WP, who died aboard the space shuttle Columbia^WP in 2003, and for whom the USS Ilan Ramon was named.
