Indira Priyadarśinī Gandhi (November 19, 1917 - October 31, 1984) was a human female who lived in the 20th century. The daughter of the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru, she served in that position herself from 1966 to 1977 and then again from 1980 to 1984, when she was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguards. Following her death, her eldest son, Rajiv Gandhi, became Prime Minister. (TOS - The Eugenics Wars novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

Indira City, located on Nehru Colony, was named after her whereas the colony itself was named after her father. Another of the colony's cities, Motilal City, was named after her paternal grandfather. (ST novel: Department of Temporal Investigations: Watching the Clock)
