- This episode introduces Sloan Section 31, who would again represent the group in "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" and "Extreme Measures". Section 31 would later appear in several episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise and would inspire the Star Trek: Section 31 novel series, as well as appear in novels of all the Star Trek series.
