Irina was a female Human on Cestus III, born in the 2320s. As a child, she was best friends with Esperanza Piñiero. When Piñiero was nine years old, the two had a fight, and all of the rest of their mutual friends sided with Irina against Esperanza. Piñiero recalled this event -- and the advice family friend Nanietta Bacco gave her afterwards -- as an adult in 2380, prior to the ceremony making Koa a Federation member state.
