Minister Itani was a female trinae Tezwan who was a very vocal member of the Tezwan Assembly.
By 2379, Itani served as Minister of Health. Bilok had personally mentored Itani throughout her career which is why she was trusted enough to be invited to the Gatni war council that Bilok called where it was decided that they would attempt to overthrow Prime Minister Kinchawn and his government. Itani was very uncomfortable with the idea of the overthow and especially of killing anyone.
Itani survived the attempted assassination of all of the leaders of the Gatni party carried out through General Minza on the orders of Kinchawn. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)
