In 2323, Jalanda was one of the sites of protests that called for greater restrictions on the movements of Cardassians on Bajor. (TLE - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)

Kira Nerys' favorite restaurant was also located in the city. In 2372, First Minister Shakaar Edon took Nerys to the restaurant as an incentive for her to go on the diplomatic mission to Korma. (DS9 episode: "Return to Grace")
