The Sorrows of Empire Edit
In the early 2270s, she was an ensign serving aboard the ISS Enterprise. On the orders of his father Grand Admiral Matthew Decker, the Enterprise's first officer Commander Willard Decker instructed Rand to attempt to seduce Admiral Spock in the hope that she would became his mistress and they would have a spy in his inner circle. She and another "buxom blonde" Carolyn Palamas insisted on offering themselves to Spock as a duo, believing that this strategy would double their seductive appeal. However, both Rand and Palamas disappeared without a trace shortly after making their advances. (TOS - Mirror Universe novel: The Sorrows of Empire)
Dark Victory Edit
In another permutation of the mirror universe, she was presumed by James T. Kirk to have played a part in allowing the ISS Enterprise to be infiltrated by four imposters, so he had her hanged in 2267 alongside Decker, Leonard McCoy, Montgomery Scott, Jabilo M'Benga, David Garrovick and Marlena Moreau. (TOS novel: Dark Victory)
