The Janitza Mountains are a mountain range on Bajor. They are a remote and sparsely inhabited area.

In 2371, Miles O'Brien discovered there was an expedition planned to survey the little explored mountains and suggested Keiko O'Brien take the position of chief botanist. (DS9 episode: "The House of Quark")

Following the failure of the Alliance for Global Unity's takeover of Deep Space 9 and the presentation of evidence the Cardassians were supplying weapons to them indirectly, Krim Aldos retreated to a house in the Janitza Mountains. In 2376, Asarem Wadeen travelled there to ask him if he would accept the position of being Bajor's representative on the Federation Council. (DS9 novel: Bajor: Fragments and Omens)

The chef of the Celestial Feast restaurant learned his trade in the Janitza Mountains. This meant his food was spicy, including his hasperat. (ST reference: Federation Travel Guide)
