Jarata "Moose" Beyn was a male Bajoran Starfleet security crewman assigned to the USS Enterprise-E by 2381. Squad leader Lieutenant Randolph Giudice had given Beyn the nickname "Moose" due to his hulking build.

During the Borg Invasion of 2381, Jarata and fellow Enterprise security officers Randolph Giudice, Kirsten Cruzen, Peter Davila, Bryan Regnis, and T'Sona were amongst the forces temporarily transferred to the USS Aventine when the vessel plotted to attack and capture a Borg scout craft, hoping to secure its vinculum. Jarata and T'Sona used compressed-gas tools to sink self-sealing anchor bolts into a bulkhead, allowing the team to cross the gap to their objective. As the rest of the team crossed the expanse, he and T'Sona remained behind to watch their backs. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)
