Joachim was a male Augment who served under Khan Noonien Singh in 2285. That same year, he helped to escape Ceti Alpha V then commandeer and control the USS Reliant for Khan. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, ST website : StarTrek.com)

By one account, Joachim had been born on Ceti Alpha V, the son of Joaquin Weiss and Suzette Ling. When his parents died, Khan honoured his old friends by raising their son. (TOS novel: To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh) By another account, Joachim had been one of the Augments held in stasis on the SS Botany Bay, landing on Ceti Alpha V in 2267 and serving as Khan's lieutenant during their exile. (TOS comic: "Khan: Ruling in Hell")

Joachim was killed when the Reliant took heavy damage from the USS Enterprise. As Joachim lay dying, his final words to Khan were "Yours...is the superior..." Joachim was played onscreen by actor Judson Scott.
