Jon Chin was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century, serving as a security guard and shuttle pilot aboard the USS Tereshkova.

He was killed in 2265 during a mission to study a rogue comet inside the Trill system. (DS9 short story: "Sins of the Mother")
