Joran Kine was a male Cardassian scientist and explorer and a childhood hero of Elim Garak.

Kine once camped outside the prime moon wormhole in an old Galor class shuttle. He believed he had decoded a cyclical regularity for the wormhole and the next opening would give him time to pass through, explore the other side and return. His findings were discredited when others were unsuccessful in repeating the experiment and he died in disgrace. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)
