The Jovis was a Zibalian Zibalian-class freighter which was operated by trader and collector, Kivas Fajo, in the 2360s. The Jovis was capable of achieving warp factor 3 and was equipped with two cargo bays. (ST:CCG: Rules of Acquisition)

In 2366, the USS Enterprise-D rendezvoused with the Jovis so that a supply of hytritium could be brought aboard the Enterprise. In order to bring the material aboard, Lieutenant Commander Data was assigned to use the shuttlecraft Chris Pike. During the transfer the shuttlecraft exploded, and Data was believed destroyed by the crew of the Enterprise.

However, Data had actually been kidnapped and made part of Fajo's collection. After spending sometime aboard the Jovis, Data was able to execute an escape. (TNG episode: "The Most Toys"; TNG novel: Q & A)
