Jukal was a male Cardassian. In 2370, shortly after the Phoenix was hijacked, he visited Deep Space 9 with other Cardassians, who claimed to be trade representatives. While being held at DS9, his ship transmitted a coded message. Soon after, four Cardassian fighters entered the wormhole in search of the stolen antimatter. However, the message itself was coded and appeared benign, thus there was no proof that he and his fellows had contacted the fighters. Nonetheless, Major Kira Nerys told them to leave and not return unless they wanted to be fired upon. (DS9 novel: Antimatter)
