Kaimi Pumehana was a counselor in Starfleet who, as of 2381, was assigned to the USS Massachusetts. Prior to that assignment, Pumehana had provided psychological care for numerous Vulcans.

Following the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Massachusetts was assigned to Vulcan. While there, Pumehana helped care for a number of civilian Vulcan patients from a hospital in Vulcana Regar, following the murder of a Vulcan counselor there. Pumehana suggested to Vulcan Doctor T'Haro that these patients be allowed, as part of their treatment, to let down their emotional barriers in controlled settings for limited periods. This suggestion was met with resistance. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)
