Kalem Apren was a male Bajoran in the 24th century. He served as First Minister of the Republic of Bajor for an unspecified period prior to his death in 2371. His death prompted an election in which Kai Winn Adami and former Bajoran Resistance leader Shakaar Edon competed, leading to Shakaar's election. (DS9 episode: "Shakaar", DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)
