Karl Broadnax was a Human male serving in Starfleet in the 24th century.

In 2349, Captain Karl Broadnax was in command of the USS Wyoming.

A man with a reputation for strongheadedness and a confrontational attitude. Broadnax eaned the nicknames "Broadsword" and "Battleaxe" from members of his crew, but none ever uttered them in his hearing. (TNG novel: The First Virtue)

Following Broadnax's untimely death in late 2349, command of the Wyoming went to his First Officer, Leonard James Akaar. (TTN novel: The Red King)
