Karuna was a 22nd century Human Starfleet crewperson serving aboard the Federation starship USS Verdun in the 2160s. In 2163, Karuna survived the wreck of the Verdun and became one of the crewmembers who started a colony on Torgu-Va. The remainder of Karuna's life was spent on Torgu-Va, where Karuna was survived by a family, including descendants Ashobi Karuna, Akiko Karuna and their seven children in the 24th century.
