Kash-to'es-khau was a Vulcan security directive that was used by the V'Shar which was the intelligence bureau of the Vulcan government and was in use by the mid-22nd century. In 2155, during the Coalition of Planets war against the Romulan Star Empire, former subcommander T'Pol journeyed to her homeworld in order to enlist her peoples aid after they had pulled away from the frontlines against the Romulans. Seeking Administrator T'Pau, T'Pol was told by Minister Kuvak that she was offworld but did not specify a time. T'Pol threatened to envoke the usage of the kash-to'es-khau in order to determine a time frame of her return. This forced Minister Kuvak to reveal that the Administrator would return to Vulcan in twenty eight point six four Vulcan standard days. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
