General Kateq was a high-ranking Klingon warrior within the Klingon Defense Force.

During the Klingon Civil War, he supported Supreme Councilor Gowron against the House of Duras. Later, he aided the Empire's allies the Federation in the Heran Crisis by leading the ground forces against the genetically-engineered supermen and women.
